One week old! January 21, 2009

I havn't been good about updating the blog lately and August one week birthday came and went. Seeing that he is almost two weeks old now...that means I am really behind. Poor thing had his circumcision on his one week old birthday. He did pretty good with it. Thank goodness for Tylenol :) He spent most of the day sleeping.

August Tyler

So sorry that it has taken me so long to get more pictures up. I can't believe how much time it takes to take care of a newborn. August is doing great. He has his nights and days mixed up so he thinks its pretty cool to be awake all night long :) Last night was great though! He actually slept for 5 hours straight! That sure did make Darren and I wake up with a start though :) A week ago we would have been complaining that we only got 5 hours of sleep. Today, we were jumping for joy that we GOT 5 hours of sleep. Funny how perspectives change. Thanks so much to everyone for thinking of us.

Hmmm.....lookin a little tired here. We might have to do a do-over on this one :)

Introducing August Tyler Hartman!!!

On Tuesday morning, Darren and I went to my doctor's appointment. They did an ultrasound since I was past due. On ultrasound, we found out that my amniotic fluid was very low, so....they sent us striaght to the hospital to be induced. We got to the hospital on Tuesday at noon and by 1:30 the Pitocin was started. My doctor got to the hospital and broke my water at 9:30 and by 10:30 I was wanting that epidural. At 12:50 I was fully dilated but the baby hadn't dropped far enough down so they just had me wait it out and let the contractions do their job. By 2:50 on Wednesday morning, I started pushing and at 3:14 am Wednesday, January 14th, the most beautiful little boy I've ever seen was born. We named him August Tyler Hartman. Welcome to the world little one!!! Maybe I shouldn't say little since he weighed in at a whopping 9 lb. 3 ounces and 22 inches long!

On our way home! We are excited and nervous at the same time :)We put socks on his hands because his fingernails were soooo long!

All dressed up and ready to come home!

Is somebody talking about ME?????

First bath!

WOW! My doctor said that I had a Texas sized baby in Colorado :)

Wow! What a feeling! Holding August for the first time. I call this LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!!

Our first family picture together. Our family of two has FINALLY grown!

This is what I looked like before going into labor. 41 weeks is long enough!

Is that still a smile?? Oh yeah, that's because of the epidural :) This is real close to delivery. Almost there!

Very proud papa!

Almost 40 weeks!

WOW! Anybody else besides Darren and I think that the bun in the oven is done???!!!!! Only two days left until my due date! Don't know how much longer we are going to have to wait but we hope that its not tooo much longer. I can't believe how slow these last few weeks have gone by. The exciting thing is to know that this baby HAS to come out sometime soon! Hopefully my next post will be pictures of the new little one instead of this huge belly of mine!

Baby's room

We are just about finished with the baby's room! The only thing left is the baby :) We've really had a lot of fun decorating and picking out things to put in it. The chair tha is in it now is not the one that we are keeping. We have a chair that we have ordered that seems to be taking its time coming in. Hopefully it will be here soon. It is black like the rest of the furniture so it will blend in better!

This is a model airplane that Darren's brother Justin had put together. We have it hanging from the ceiling when you first walk in the room.

The big empty space above the crib is going to be the baby's name. We painted letters to hang there....just can't put it up yet since it's a secret :)
